I have loved photography for as long as I can
remember. As a kid I loved flipping through National Geographic.
I seldom read an article but I looked at every picture.
My mom had a Kodak Brownie then my dad bought a
35mm Exacta SLR. I was hooked.
I was never very comfortable in front of the lens,
and am not to this day, but I love seeing the world through the
viewfinder.
I bought my first serious camera in 1980 when I
was 25. A canon F1 with a 50mm f1.4 lens. I've been buying and selling
cameras ever since.
In 1989 I began taking photography courses at Orange
Coast College. After a few courses I began to offer my services
for hire. It only took a handful of jobs before I realized that
my passion was for shooting what I wanted to rather than what people
wanted to pay for. So much for giving up my day job.
About the same time I took a job as a tour leader
for an adventure travel company. My life of travel began in earnest.
More to come...
